Electrolysis is a safe, effective and permanent method to remove unwanted facial and body hair. A certified electrologist inserts a tiny probe into the hair follicle alongside the hair and a small amount of current is delivered to the probe to destroy the hair root either by heat or chemical reaction. In some methods, both are used at the same time.

Electrolysis requires a series of treatments to be given over a period of time. The length of time needed for completion is dependent on many factors. The density and coarseness of the hair as well as the size of the total area being treated are important factors.
